How to choose the right kake (kyudo glove)
Kake (kyudo glove )is the most important part of kyudo equipment,it is made of
deer skin and worn on the right hand.
Even though it is normal to change the how every-so-often the same kake is being used
Usually kake is not being replaced for another one,for a very long time.
That is why there is a Japanese saying(kakegae no nai),it means there ia
nothing that can replace kake.

How to choose the kake (glove)
The bigger number of the kake is the bigger is its size ,It is very important
that the tip of the thumb can reach the end.
The general size for women is 3or4, Forthose who have small hand it is size2,There are cases
that due to the big hands the size might reach up to5
for men the general size is 5and6.
カケの大きさは、号数の数字が大きいほど大きくなります。
親指が、先に届くことが重要です。
女性の方は 3号、4号が一般的です。手の小さい方は 2号になります。大きめでしっかりした手の方は 5号の方もいらっしゃいます。
男性の方は 5号、6号が一般的です。指が細くて小さめの方は 4号になります。大きめの方は 7号になり、指のかなり太く大きい方は 8号の場合があります。
カケは手作りのため、同じ号数でも多少異なります。人の手も同じサイズの人はいないので、①親指・②親指の付け根から人差指の先端・③中指の長さを測り、それぞれのカケに表記しますので、参考にお選びください。

人の手は、それぞれの指の長さや関節の太さなど必ず違います。カケも手作りのため同じ号数でも多少の差があります。それぞれのカケにサイズを表記しますので、手に合うものを選ぶ参考にしてください。
カケの取り扱いについて
汗の吸収や汚れ防止のため、必ず下カケを使用してください。湿気は大敵ですので、こまめに下カケをとりかえ、風通しのよい日陰で乾燥させることが大切です。乾燥剤と保管すると良いでしょう。
